I purchased my card for R35 and loaded the smallest bundle which is R50 bundle(he didn’t Say how much points it was except for it works out to 30% cheaper) and off I went to wait for the bus, I was waiting at the section street station, when the bus came I got in and for a second thought that it was so awesome as the step came out onto the platform I was standing on, then I got in and not only was I anxious as the guy told me I qould have to change buses at racecourse and the bus was so full I thought I was back on metrorail train(thats how full it was).I started chatting to one of my fellow commuters and he then explained to me how the process worked which he too wasn’t really sure about, but knew enough to put me at ease he got out a stop before mine and said I could sit in his seat.I then changed at racecourse got into an9ther vus had to change at Omuramba again and then finally I got to my station which was about 10- 15 minutes where I wanted to be,so I had to walk another few metres.
All in all it was a nice experience something new it was much cheaper than if I had to take a taxi and a lot more comfortable too, but if you factor in the tine it take you to get somewhere (twice the time I would have taken with the taxi) I’m not sure if it is truly worth it? Have any of you travelled with the Myciti before? What do you think?it is obviously more convenient for places where the is normally no form of public transport eg.from century city station to canal walk.
Till next time
